APSjobs is owned, managed and maintained by the Australian Public Service Commission (the Administrator(s)) on behalf of the Australian Government.

The terms and conditions stated here apply to all users. You can register for different parts of APSjobs, and additional terms and conditions which apply to such registration are identified separately. They are additional to the terms and conditions which apply generally.
When you register on APSjobs you are entering into an agreement with the Commonwealth of Australia that you accept these terms and conditions.

Part 6 – Mobility Register additional terms and conditions

Mobility Register allows current APS employees to upload details of their work history and employment preferences. The information provided is used to create a database that can be accessed by Australian Government employers searching for suitable candidates for ongoing movements at level or non-ongoing (temporary) employment opportunities.

Campaigns advertised on APSjobs allow candidates to upload details of their work history and employment preferences. The information provided is used to create a database that can be accessed by Australian Government employers searching for suitable candidates for employment opportunities.

Information might be disclosed by registered Agency Users or Administrator in the course of recruitment activity to persons including your current employer or Agency, or another Australian Government Agency, or a person or body authorised by an Australian Government Agency to assist with or provide recruitment services.
By providing information to a Campaign you are consenting to that disclosure and use.

Part 8 – Redeployment Register

8.1 Your privacy and the Australian Public Service Redeployment Register

This statement applies to personal information collected from an individual Australian Public Service (APS) employee and their current agency by the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) and held in the Redeployment Register.
The purpose of the Redeployment Register is to allow you, if you have agreed, to be considered for redeployment to suitable vacancies across the APS.
As part of the process of placing your details on the Redeployment Register you will be asked to provide the APSC with personal information including details of your current employment status, work history, skills and experience and identifying information including your Australian Government Service (AGS) number.
Some information will have already been provided by your agency as part of your initial registration, and if you believe it is not accurate you are able to ask your agency to correct this information.

8.2 Who will have access to your information?

Your personal information will be held by the APSC in the Redeployment Register. It will only be used to assist you to seek redeployment within the APS, and for management purposes such as reporting and statistical analysis.
The information on the Redeployment Register is not available publicly.

The information will be disclosed to APS agencies who have a job vacancy and who wish to consider potentially suitable registered employees. Agencies will access the information through a secure logon facility. In the course of this consideration, agencies may disclose your personal information to others involved in their recruitment exercise including recruitment firms, who will also be bound by certain privacy provisions. Agencies may disclose your personal information on the Redeployment Register to your referees.

Your personal information will also be disclosed to your own agency as part of the administration of the Redeployment Register.

Note that the Australian Public Service Commission is bound by the Information Privacy Principles of the Privacy Act 1988.

Part 9 – Agency User additional terms and conditions

Registered Agency Users can access and use information on Mobility Register, the Redeployment Register and Campaigns to assist with recruitment activities. Registered Agency users can also place information on the Mobility Register and Campaigns pages, and in the Public Service Gazette.

Material displayed on APSjobs is subject to copyright. No unauthorised use is permitted.

10.2 Offence

The Criminal Code Act 1995 states that it is an offence if you give information to the Commonwealth if you are aware the information is false or you leave out information so that information you do give is misleading.
Under these circumstances giving false or misleading information is a serious offence and appropriate action may be taken against you.

While the Administrator endeavours to provide a secure internet environment, users should note there are inherent risks associated with transmission of information via the internet. Users should make their own assessment of the potential risks to the security of their information.

10.4 Compliance with laws

It is your responsibility to ensure that any actions taken by you in using APSjobs complies with Commonwealth, State and Territory law.
If the Administrator considers that any information is in breach of any law it will immediately remove the information that has been posted.

10.5 Indemnity


You agree not to hold the Administrator, its officers, employees, agents or subcontractors liable in any way for any loss or expense (including legal expenses) resulting from any claim or action resulting from any wilful, unlawful or negligent act or omission by the Administrator or the Administrator’s officers, employees, agents or subcontractors in connection with APSjobs.

The Administrator reserves the right to remove, delete or change the location of any information contained within the website at any time.
